SANCTUARY
A Safe Place for Vulnerability

Safety is the foundation for awareness, for connecting with self and with others. It is the rich soil in which all good things grow. Pain, fear, and anger are a challenge to safety. If they are not faced directly, safety is eroded, and life is diminished. These moments of vulnerability call for careful attention, and require an informed response. Learn how to stay present to these feelings – and discover the strength available within your vulnerability. Learn how to be soft – and strong.

We will gather to create a communion in spirit that embraces the uniqueness of each member. We will create a safe place, even as we learn how to do this. Music, guided meditation, self-reflection, and self-expression with word, sound, and movement will fill the space that we open together.

SANCTUARY FEEDBACK

  • By all of our pleadings for Sanctuary II I’m sure it evident how you have touched our lives, souls, spirit…
  • The breath work was helpful in making me aware how tight I am on the inside, and how to begin to let go…
  • I appreciated the times we paused for awareness.
  • I found the guided meditations and breath work very meaningful and appreciated the sense of safety that was created in the sharing space.
  • I loved how you allowed the group to develop and relinquished control at times, but not too much, so that we learned from your wisdom.
  • Connecting with others was most helpful today, especially discussion and sharing re shame and anger.
  • It helps so much to realize that I am not the only one who has experienced or is experiencing these difficult emotions.
  • I really like the guided meditation on breathing and being rooted in the water. I will take the idea of rootedness and standing solidly on my feet with me back into my life as I confront my fears.
  • I learned my journey is moving as it is meant to because your workshop validated it in so many ways.
  • I am leaving feeling more grounded in myself and very appreciative of the shared experiences in the group.
  • I really enjoyed this workshop!
  • Very powerful shift today. I am walking away more peaceful and more hopeful about my inner healing and change.
  • Your workshop was wonderful on so many levels. My chronically anxious stomach resolved itself mid-morning.
  • You have given a strong set of life skills to help me come to peace with my thoughts, body, and fears, and hopefully release some of my emotional and physical pain.
  • I have been in the grips of unfocused fear about becoming too vulnerable because of my aging. The activities helped me find clarity about my fear, and I have developed a ritual to help me befriend my fear.
  • I appreciated your gentle leadership. You shape whatever is shared to fit the focus. This gave me the comfort to go deeper into my interior.
  • I appreciated the safe space you provided, the manual we can keep, the opportunities for sharing, and that everyone did freely.
